Events for Families

Join us for a 6-hour weekend workshop helping parents understand child-to-parent aggression and learn practical, compassionate strategies.

Reduce conflict and build calmer family relationships with practical, specialist support.

Many parents and carers live with aggression, intimidation or harmful behaviour from their child behind closed doors. Families often tell us they feel isolated, blamed and unsure where to turn. This workshop is designed to change that.

Delivered by specialist practitioners from Capa First Response, this 6-hour online workshop (usually delivered over two 3-hour sessions) helps parents and carers understand what is driving the behaviour and develop practical, compassionate strategies to strengthen family relationships.

Our approach is relational, neuroscience-informed, attachment-based and solution-focused. Rather than blaming parents or labelling children, we help families make sense of what is happening and identify realistic steps towards calmer, safer relationships.

Suitable for parents and carers experiencing child-to-parent aggression, harmful behaviours or ongoing family conflict, the workshop covers:

  • Understanding child-to-parent aggression and why it develops.
  • The impact of trauma, anxiety, stress and neurodivergence on behaviour.
  • Practical strategies to reduce conflict and build connection.
  • Safety planning for challenging situations.
  • Neurodivergent-affirming approaches, including autism, ADHD and PDA.
  • Rebuilding confidence, compassion and hope within the family.

Delivered in a safe, supportive and non-judgmental environment, parents leave with greater understanding, practical tools they can use immediately and renewed confidence that positive change is possible.

Feedback from a previous participant

It was so lovely to be in a group of seemingly like-minded, caring parents, who all just want what’s best for their child – and family unit – but are struggling to know how to get there.  The warmth, care, validation and strategies that you offered were not things that I have heard anywhere else, and it was so greatly appreciated.
